Corvette parade for World Down Syndrome DayMarch 22, 2021 Lexi Schweinert, Share This Stor stanley cup yFacebookTwitteremailPrintLinkedinRedditBOWLING GREEN, Ky.- To celebrate World Down Syndrome Day Monday, Cumberland Trace Elementary pulled out all the stops and the cars.聽The Corvette Club brought out over a dozen cars for the Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky buddies to ride in around the elementary school. Each of their fellow classmates made a sign to cheer on their buddies.聽Theyve done parades in the past, but last year they werent able to due to COVID. So this year they went all out and got a Corvette club involved.聽Each buddy got to ride in the passenger seat of a Corvette as they took laps around the schools track. Scott Lewis, stanley cup dad of buddy Asher said he was trying to hold back tears.聽 Its hard to even fathom that these kids are loved this much. Im rarely at a loss for words but Im at a loss for words. I couldnt have a better situation for these kids; the educators, the school, everybody loves them, its just amazing, said Lewis.聽 I feel loved, said buddy Asher Lewis.聽A few of the buddies attend Cumberland Trace Elementary as they are one of the two elementary schools in the area with specialized learning for those born with stanley flasche Down syndrome.
