OTTAWA 鈥?Justin Brake, a journalist who faces civil and criminal charges over his reporting about the impact of the Muskrat Falls hydro project on Indigenous people, has won the 20th annual Press Freedom Award.Brake 鈥?who was working for the Newfoundland and Labrador online news site, The Independent, at the time he was charged 鈥?is being honoured on World Press Freedom Day.The award is presented by the Canadian Committee for World Press Freedom in partnership with the Canadian Commission for UNESCO to a journalist or media organization that has done the most for press freedom in the preceding year. CLAY, New York 鈥?The Onondaga County Sheriff Office reports that Detectives have arrested an Oswego County man in connection with the Tops Friendly Market grocery store robbery that occurred in the Town of Clay on January 27.Joseph Ryan ODonnell, 43, of County Route 54, Town of Schroeppel, New York, was charged yesterday with robbery in the 1st degree, criminal use of a firearm in the 1st degree, grand l stanley cup arceny in the 3rd degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree.Through a police investigation, detectives identified ODonnell as the suspect that was armed with a handgun when he robbed the Tops Friendly Market located at 8417 Oswego Road.
